Dreamland opens for the 2024 season on SATURDAY November 23rd!
Once you arrive home with your tree and you are ready to put it in the stand, you should make a fresh cut at the bottom of the tree and place it in water as soon as possible. The fresh cut allows the tree to take in water. Even if the tree was freshly cut in the field by you, a fresh cut is still strongly recommended before placing it in the stand. Once the tree is in the stand and starts drinking, it is important to make sure that the water does not run out. If the water level drops below the bottom of the tree, the tree will harden off and will not take in anymore water. The tree will drink water as needed, it may not always show signs of drinking if it does not need water. This does not mean your tree is not taking water. In most cases, the tree will drink a lot of water when first put in the stand, so it is recommended to check the water twice a day for the first week and then once a day after that.
